Camp and Council Equipment Loan/Rental Procedures
There is a variety of equipment available for loan or rent from the three council camps or at the Brooklyn Center Service Center, including flags and banners, sports equipment, videos, games, kits, and other types of program support.
You will find a complete listing of equipment for loan/rent listed in the 2007-08 Camp and Council Equipment Resources Guides.
Reservation Period and Fees:
- Equipment is reserved from Thursday after 12 noon through Wednesday before 12 noon.
- Equipment may be picked up and returned any time during this period.
- Bring any fees for equipment with you when you pick up the equipment.
- Troop cookie credits, check (made payable to GSMWRV) or cash may be used to pay equipment fees.
Pick-Up and Return Location:
- Equipment is picked-up and returned at the Brooklyn Center Service Center.
- Hours between September and mid-June are:
8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Monday in the Brooklyn Center Service Center Store
- Hours between mid-June and end of August are:
8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday
8 a.m. - noon Friday
Damaged or Missing Equipment:
- Deposits are not collected in most cases.
- If equipment is returned damaged, not in its original condition, or is missing, the borrower will be responsible for the cost of fixing or replacing the equipment.
- The borrower may not register for a Council Event, rent a camp site or borrow other equipment until the cost or condition is taken care of.

Camp Equipment Rental Procedures
There is a variety of equipment available for rent from the camps, including games, kits and outdoor camp gear. You will find a complete listing of equipment for rent from the camps in the Council Resource Guide.
Reservation Period and Fees:
- Equipment is rented for a 3-1/2 hour time period:
A.M. 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
P.M. 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Eve. 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Times may vary slightly for outdoor cooking equipment and tents
- Fees are paid for each time period and should be submitted with the Council Equipment Rental Form.
- If your first choice of time periods is not available, the Council Site Registrar will contact you.
- Troop cookie credits, check made payable to GSMWRV, or cash may be used to pay equipment fees.
- Fees will be refunded if weather conditions prevent the use of equipment reserved (for example, there is no snow and you have reserved snowshoes). Refunds are not given if you choose not to use the equipment once you are on the site.
Pick-up and Return Information:
Equipment will be available in the building you reserved with the exception of cross country skis. Cross country skis are located in the lower level of Timber Meade Center at Camp Elk River. Please leave the equipment where it was found when you are done using it. Please do not take the equipment from the camp property.

Movie License Information
User groups showing movies while staying at Camps Elk River, Greenwood or Lockeslea should review the council's Movie License Agreement with Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC). The Agreement lists the terms and conditions under which a movie can be shown, as well as providing a list of motion picture companies whose movies may be used. DVD players and monitors are available in most buildings or rooms at the camps.
