Check out these programs taking place at Camp Greenwood and Camp Elk River this summer. For more information and registration materials go to www.girlscoutsrv.org

Brownie Bonanza
Get introduced to Girl Scout Camp at this one day event! Experience the exciting activities camp offers and meet our fun and skilled staff. Girls may attend as a troop, group or individually. Adults are invited to attend, but are not required. (9 a.m.-4 p.m.)
GRADES:1-3
DATES & LOCATIONS:July 20, August 14, August 15, 2008 at Elk River; July 2 at Camp Greenwood
COST:$30

You & Me
This two night program is designed for girls not quite ready to attend overnight camp independently, or for the adult who wants to go back to camp! Girls attend with a significant adult in their lives and both get to enjoy an introductory session of camp.
GRADES:2-5
DATES:July 11-13 and July 25-27
LOCATION:Camp Greenwood
COST:$200 per pair

Troop Camp
Troop Adventure Camp is designed to provide girls with an outdoor camping adventure. Our focus is making sure that leaders are having just as much fun as the girls. Leaders attend with their troop and participate in the fantastic camp activities led by on-site camp staff. Girls and leaders alike enjoy the opportunity to bond, develop new skills, team-build and make new friends. This provides campers with a "sneak peek" at how resident camp functions and gives them a chance to see the lager world of Girl Scouting outside of their troop.
GRADES:2-12
DATES:June 29-July 1, July 14-16, July 18-20, August 1-3
LOCATION:Camp Greenwood
COST:$90 per girl; $50 per adult

Camp Troopers
Enjoy the adventure of Camp with your troop, but without your leaders! Troops register together and summer camp staff takes care of the rest. Develop deeper friendships, meet scouts from other troops, and return home full or memories.
GRADES:4-12
DATES:August 4-6
LOCATION:Camp Greenwood
COST:$198 per girl

Resources from Wilderness Inquiry

Integrated Outdoor Training Activities for Girl Scout Troops Girl Scout leaders and their youth participants will serve as volunteer assistants for people with and without disabilities. These day long volunteer activities will provide the opportunity for hands on learning and service in a safe environment for both girl scouts and their leaders.

Adventure Leadership Training Trips for Scout Troops
We will work with your troop to plan a multi-day integrated adventure. Your troop will come away with new skills in environmental awareness, outdoor leadership and social integration. The trip includes experienced field staff, food, all necessary camping gear, additional clothing and gear for participants who don’t have their own.

Technical Assistance and Support
We will help to develop resources and coaching for Girl Scout leaders who are having specific issues and challenges including youth with disabilities. We will help your troop establish on-going inclusive program activities that enhance the core mission of  Girl Scouts.

Program Resources

Water Drop Patch Project
The Water Drop Patch Project, developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in partnership with the Girl Scouts of the USA, offers Brownies, Juniors, and Girl Scouts 11-17 hands-on activities focusing on watershed management and natural resource conservation. Once Girl Scouts complete the requisite activities, they can purchase the Water Drop Patch from the Girl Scout Council of Greater Minneapolis Store.
The purpose of the project is to encourage girls to:
- Make a difference in their communities by becoming watershed and wetlands stewards
- Use their skills and their knowledge to educate others in their communities about the need to protect the nation's valuable water resources
- Explore the natural world to gain an interest in science and math
An electronic copy of the project booklet can be downloaded on the Linking Girls to the Land Web Site at: www.epa.gov/adopt/patch/.
Copies of the booklet are also available for FREE by calling the National Service Center for Environmental Publications at 1-800-490-9198.
