The Fourth Annual "Sweet Success" Competition was held on February 20!!More than 100 guests enjoyed an evening of cookies, conversation and competition at the fourth annual Sweet Success event held on Tuesday, February 20th at International Market Square. The event gives culinary students an opportunity to create original recipes using America's favorite cookies: Girl Scout Cookies. Thao Moore, a Woodbury resident and culinary arts student attending The Art Institutes International Minnesota, received the First Place and People's Choice awards for her "Coconut Shrimp with Peanut-Lime Sauce," recipe utilizing the Girl Scout's Caramel deLite and Peanut Butter Sandwich cookies. Celebrity judges included Sue Zelickson, Food Reporter from WCCO AM; Cheryl Kaye on-air personality from KS95; Megan O'Hara, Owner of Megan O'Hara Communications; Molly Kentala, Communications Rep. for Carlson Companies; Soile Anderson Owner of Deco Catering; Amanda Long and Claudia Swanson, 2006 top cookie-sellers; and Lenny Russo - Chef/Proprietor of Heartland Contemporary Midwestern Restaurant. In addition to the culinary competition, guests enjoyed hors d'ouvres, samples of past competition-winning recipes, and this year's Girl Scout Cookie varieties. The competitive spirit was also high in the silent auction, where guests bid on spectacular packages with proceeds going to support the Council. Special thanks to our Media Sponsor Mpls.St.Paul Magazine as well as our other sponsors, Carlson Companies and Buca di Beppo for helping to make the event a success! Thank you to all of our silent auction donors:
