Guide to Creating Troop/Group Web Sites

INTRODUCTION
The age of online communication is here! We want to encourage troops and groups to develop their own web sites. What better way to learn new skills and improve communication between girls, leaders, service units, Council staff, and the world at large!

A group of volunteers, working with Council staff, created these guidelines. Our goal is to make your web design experience as easy and successful as possible, while maintaining the integrity of the Girl Scout program, name, and standards. Part One of these guidelines includes GSCGM standards and recommendations for your web site. Part Two walks you through the steps to creating your site. Part Three lists online, print, and local resources that will aid you in the design process.

Enclosed with these guidelines is an evaluation form. Please complete it and return it to the Council's Communications Department. Your input will tell us what was effective and what to strengthen.

You're about to embark on a stimulating, educational project – designing a web site for your troop or group. You may be new to cyberspace or you may be a veteran. Whatever your experience level, these guidelines are here to help make this a positive experience. We wish you luck in Cyberville!
