Why Take Training

For the Girls! Girl Scout training is your chance to learn the "how to's" of providing quality, safe, and fun experiences for girls. It will also make your volunteer experience more exciting and rewarding.

We believe that trained adults are key to the success of the Girl Scout movement. It is council policy that every adult in Girl Scouting must have the training called for in her/his position description, and a fully trained leader should be with a troop at all times. It is a volunteer's responsibility to complete the required training. The council will maintain a record of the council-sponsored training you have attended.

To ensure your success as an adult volunteer in Girl Scouting, we provide a comprehensive, on-going training program. This site contains information on when and where leader training, safety training, outdoor training, and enrichment training are available. Please click on the Training Path 2007-08 (PDF format) to see a "big picture" of the training available.

Please note: Spanish speakers may contact our council by calling (763)971-4083.
