At outdoor, overnight & trip training, adults learn how to teach and prepare girls for group living in a setting different from the troop/group meeting. All participants must be GSUSA registered adults. In most cases, prior completion of Orientation, Girl Scout Basics and current age-level training is required because this training is progressive, i.e. building on information covered in leader training. For example, Safety-Wise is introduced in leader training, and outdoor trainers teach safety concepts related to outdoor activities. Participants do not need to be the primary leaders of the troop/group but do need to have completed the pre-requisites. CHOOSING A TRAINING SESSION The progression of sessions adult volunteers need to attend depends on the troop's program plans, including where girls will sleep and how they will prepare food. Check the introduction to the individual outdoor, overnight & trip training sessions for detailed explanations.
