First Aid Level 2
CHOOSING A TRAINING SESSION
As an adult volunteer, you need to know that troop first aiders are needed when
girls have planned physically demanding activities or other activities that involve
a potential for injury. There are two levels of first aiders described in Safety-Wise:
- Level 1 - Adult CPR and First Aid training together fulfill the Level 1 requirement
in Safety-Wise.
- Level 2 - Adult CPR and First Aid certification in combination with American
Red Cross When Help is Delayed training fulfill the Level 2 requirement in Safety-Wise.
This course will be offered on odd-numbered years in order to use our resources
wisely. Please plan ahead.

up on a screen and being in a private setting
FIRST AID LEVEL 2 TRAINING
Encampments
Ext Trips
This special course combines the Red Cross First Aid course When Help Is Delayed
with council training and builds upon information from Adult CPR and First Aid.
The purpose of this course is to provide Girl Scout volunteers with the skills and
knowledge necessary to fulfill the duties of a Level 2 first aider. The course includes
certification in American Red Cross First Aid - When Help Is Delayed, and
specific information on the duties and responsibilities of a Girl Scout Level 2
first aider for the council especially for encampments
of 200 or more participants.
Even though this course meets Safety-Wise 2000 requirements, if you are planning
a troop excursion and need more intensive first-aid training, it is recommended
that you take one of the more comprehensive wilderness first aid courses listed
on page 37 of Safety-Wise.
Prerequisites
In order to receive American Red Cross First Aid - When Help Is Delayed and
council safety training certificates, you must
have a First Aid certificate from a course completed within the last three years
and an Adult CPR certificate from a course completed within the last year.
You must bring your unexpired certification cards with you to class for presentation.
Note: This course does meet Level 2 First Aid requirements if you hold
current First Aid and Adult CPR certification.
